Allyon will be represented by E.M. Scanlon, and city attorney Yates and other legal talent including Judge A.L. Miller, will look after the interests of the town. This will be a hard fought case. Allyon alleges that he fell from a walk near Haffet's saloon, on Fourth street, early in January, and sustained serious injuries. The walk, where he claims to have fallen, is some eighteen inches form the ground, and he charges the city with carelessness in not providing a railing. It was dark at the time he fell. The city will try to prove that Allyon was intoxicated at the time the accident occurred, and will also undertake to prove that he was well acquainted with the condition of the walk. He is asking for $10,000 and expenses while being treated, amounting in all to something more than $11,000.
