LaCamas Post August 1, 1908
I hereby announce myself a candidate for the Republican nomination for county 
commissioner from the 1st district.As road business is one of the most 
important matters that comes before the commissioners,I feel that I am  
entitled to your support,as I have had six years experience in road work.I 
believe that all money raised by taxation in a district for road purposes 
should be spent in that district as nearly as possible,avoiding spending a 
greater part in any one community.I believe that more supervisors should be 
appointed,that the work could be done early in the season,when less money 
expended will build more lasting roads.I belive in the strictest economy in 
county affairs that the burden of taxation may be reduced and that the county 
may be freed from debt.My home is at Ridgefield and I solicit close inquiry 
among my neighbors as to my character and standing in the community.
