To the Republican Voters of Clarke County,Washington:
As it is impracticable to interview the voters personally.I take this means of 
announcing my candidacy for the office of County Commissioner for District 
Number One.
I believe that the affairs of the county should be conducted on strictly 
business principles and especially along lines that will relieve the taxpayers 
from burden of excess taxation.I am in favor of the closest supervision of the 
county roads,and I believe the public moneys should be expended in such a way 
as to make the roads passable and fit for travel.
I have lived in Clarke County for the past twenty four years,and for the past 
fifteen years,on a farm near LaCenter.I am well acquainted with the various 
sections of the county;and I believe myself capable of filling the office 
satisfactorily to the people.
