Swank of Vanocuver, father of W.Swank, of this city, was very pleasantly surprised at his home on Monday evening, when a number of the Saughters of Veterans caled at his home and presented him with a big bunch of lovely carnations as an expression of their appreciation of many courteies and kindly acts.Music, games, and social converse, followed by refreshments, made the evening pass delightfully. Mr. Swank is an honorary member of the Daughters of Veterans and has doen everything in his power to promote its welfare. Those presnt were: Mesdames Sylvia Thompson, Anna Liapple, Ida Nelson, Jennie L.Young, Flora Bayley, Alice M. O'Connor, Mollie Anderson, Ella Rhorer, Mary Hislop. C.C.
