LaCamas Post January 29, 1908
The above is a photograph of last year's ball team. Reading from left to right 
they are: top row,McGinnis,Cox,Poindexter,manager,Young and Leiser; econd row: 
Pickett,Campbell,Reilly; bottom row,Ostenson,Laws,Chester 
Poindexter,mascot,and Nesfger.
A meeting was held at Wright's drug store Thursday evenign and a tea for this 
season was organized. J.T.Poindexter,who so succesfully managed the team last 
year,was elected manager.J.A.Cowan was elected treasurer and Frank 
McGinnis,captain.Old players were secured as follows: Frank McGinnis,Frank 
Cox,Will Laws,Penry Ostenson,Grady Pickett,Roy Young,Chas.Cheney,also 
D.D.VanCamp. Manager Poindexter has secured Wm.Nesfger to pitch,which is 
additional assurance that the team will be a winner.He also expects to have 
Herb Leiser and John Pickett,the latter an old LaCamas player. John McFee also 
is expected to make good on the team.The team will consist of twelve players 
this season.The boys are enthusiastic,and it is expected they will play good 
ball,and the manager promises games with the fastest teams in Washington and 
Northern Oregon.
The new ball park will be completed by th eopening of the season,and the 
better the patronage that is given,the better teams will be seured for games. 
The matter rests in a great measure with the people of tyhis section in 
patronizing the games. Most of the games will be played on the home ground.
The LaCamas tem has made good for the last two years and the team this year 
will be the best the town ever had.
