The lad overrated the strength of the glass in a door and pushed his hand through. Attorney John Wilkinson of the law firm of Miller & Wilkinson of Vancouver, was in the city Tuesday looking into the matter of the proceedings in connection with the improvements of Fourth and Fifth streets. It is understood that he was acting in the interest of the P & L Co., but apparently no irregularities were disclosed by the examination. There was a very pleasant surprise party on Wednesday last at the Schnorr- Matchet poultry farm when a number of friends called upon Mrs. Schnorr and spent the day. The party included Mrs. Ed Reed and son, Mrs. Toon Gorman, Mrs. Charles Fernley and Charles Marchbank of this city, and Mr. and Mrs. Gay Bybee and daughters, Lola and Vera, and Mrs. Louis Seward and daughter, Evelyn. Mrs. Margaret Snyder left on MOnday for a visit to relatives in Oregon. Mrs. Sophia Ludtke has been arrested on a charge of complicity in the murder of her husband, who was shot by Edward Gall, a Russian, while sitting in the window of a neighbor's house near Ridgefield, a couple weeks or so ago. She is now in the county jail.
