Hanley, the cattle king of Central Oregon, is offering for sale 1000 head of choice breeding cows. A.W.Scott of Prune Hill has almost completely recovered from his recent severe attack of sciatic rheumatism, and made several trips to town during the week. Deputy Game Warden Sodawasser has resigned from that position for the reason , it is reported here, that he does not consider the game laws are impartially enforced. Councilman McAllster left for his ranch Wednesday morning, with the intention of passing the remainder of the week repairing fences and making other needed improvements. Michael Nolan, one of the pioneers in this part of the county, was in town Tuesay. Mr. Nolan was looking in good health and bids fair to live for another quarter century. Dan McDonald who recently returned from the hospital at Vancouver after an attack of illness from pneumonia which threatened to be fatal, is again able to be out, and is in better health than at any time for several months. Messrs. Beagle,Blake and McAllister, owners of the north half of the north half of section 10, is a part of what was known as the Alice Blake tract, is to be surveyed and Engineer Cox has been engaged to do the work, which is to be doen without delay. The surveying of the city cemetery has been completed, and engineer Cox is now engaged in making the plat. When this has been finished, a valuation will be placed on the lots, so that all information desired may be frnished promptly to the applicants. Leslie Pierce, who has been working in his leisure hours for more than a year at the construction of a gasoline launch, finally has her completed, and on Sunday she was taken to Karnath's Landing and launched. The new craft is of gracefu lines and is fitted with a four cylinder Ford engine of sixteen horsepower. George H. Savage, who left thsi city a few months ago to fix up the grounds and garden at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pittock in Portland, has gone to Nahcotta to fill a position with W.A. Morehead, a wealthy merchant there. Thos. Beauhn, who has charge of the Crown Willamette Co.,s pulp mill at Warrendale, left for Floristan, Cal., Tuesday morning. He will not return for a couple of months, and meanwhile Joe Kaster will have charge of the Warrendale mill. The Price Bros. basketball team was organized with W.W. Laws as manager. The players will be Gus Loenz, Gilbert Powers, Clarence Strahl, Cecil Knapp Jack Sims, Archie Blair and Ned Self. The practice games will be played in the Opera House. Mrs.J.W.Blackburn, wife of the postmaster at Ridgfield, and Mrs. R.Stryker, wife of the medical practicioner there, visited at the home of Rev. and Mrs. L.B. Quick from Saturday until Tuesday. Both of the ladies are members of the Ridgefield Presbyterian church. One of the most prosperous looking farmers seen in town during the week was Jack Owens, formerly engineer at th elocal laundry, but now farming in the vicinty of Harmony. Jack says he is doing well and is very much pleased with life on the farm. C.D.Gates will soon reside within the corporate limits of the city of Camas, and will have a residence built on lot 3, block 16, which he purchased yesterday from J.W.Cohn and wife. The property is near that of Mr. and Mrs. A.D.Middleton.The sale was reported by Currie and McAllister.
