Frame, the recently appointed city marshal, assumed the duties of the office Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Brashear will soon be able to take up their residence in their pretty new bungalow in Overlook Addition. While in Portland on Tuesday, H.S.Clark purchased a handsome Stoddard Dayton automobile with which he is much pleased. Captain C.C.Fleet of Troop A, Uniform Rank, K of P, soent Wednesday evening here as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W.Swank. Edwd. Ross of Prune Hill has been suffering for several days from the effects of a sprained back, and has been confined to his bed. Frank Williams accidentally cut his hand while splitting wood on Thursday evening, and narrowly escaped cutting off the entire thumb. Arthur Lamoureux returned to work Tuesday after an enforced rest of several days owing to an injury to one of his eyes from a splinter of steel. Mrs. A.J.Peterson of Spokane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Zimmerman who has been visiting with her parents for a week or so, returned home yesterday morning. Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Turner on Tuesday moved their place of residence from the McKever house near the baseball park to the Crawford place above the Baptist Church. Mr. Jenks, who is to succeed the late W.D.Scott as general manager of the S.P. & S., arrived from St.Paul last evening. Mr. Jenkins comes from the Superior Division of the Great Northern. Miss Lillian Shaffe, who was recently taken to St.Joseph's Hospital to undergo an operation for appendicitis, returned on the morning train Tuesday. She has completely recovered from the effects of the operation. On MOnday morning Floyd Miller and Clarence Strahl, dramatic critics of the Grand Theater, went to Portland to witness the production of the great Eesanay pictures, entitled "His New Job" and to pass upon its merits. Many friends will regreet to hear that Mrs. E.E. Lindsey of Forest Home has been seriously ill with intestinal trouble for over a week past, and that she has very severely. It is feared that her removal to the hospital will be necessary. Mrs. Margaret Snyder and Mrs. Wm. Perry of Oak Park, who have been subjected to annoyance from an individual who appears to have "slipped a cog" went to Vancouver Tuesday to make complaint to the prosecuting attorney.
