Edward L.Brown is taking an outing at Newport,Or. Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Rowley are at the coast for a few days. J.H. Hartman,of LaCenter, was a Vancouver visitor last Monday. I.Schalt returned last night from a weeks outing at Long Beach. Cale Shaw and family will go to Seaside the latter part of the week. Edward and Harry Fletcher have been at Moffet's Springs for the past week. Rev.J.E.Snydrt and wife are spending a few days at Ilwaco and Long Beach. C.H.Clements, of Portland, is in this city inspecting the rural delivery routes. Mrs.C.N. Henslee, and baby, are visiting in this city with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Crawford. A.Swank,of Fruit Valley, is the latest candidate for county commissioner to succeed A.A.Quarnberg. Mrs. A.T.Weston and Mrs. Frank Weston and daughteleft for Newport,Or., last Tuesday morning. Miss Dollie Hunt returned from a two weeks visit with her uncle, Jos.A.C. Brant, at Milwaukie,Or. Mr. and Mrs. E.E.Beard are attending the meeting of the State Press Asociation being held at Tacoma this week. Mrs.John C.Huston left Monday morning for Trout Lake,near Mount Adams, where she will camp with friends from Portland. Lloyd DuBois,junior, accompanied by his mother, has gone to Ocean Park to recuperate from the effects of the whooping cough. E.M.Rowley has bought the buildings formerly occupied by the Vancouver Grocery and is having them moved to lots near Kauffman and 13th street. Miss Mary Kenney has returned from her trip with the Oregonian Yellowstone Party and is again at work in the telephone office. She reports a splendid time. H.C.McIntyre last wek sold seven lots on eighteenth street to the gas company. It now seems to be a sure thing that Vancouver is to get a gas plant. Miss Josephine Crowley, the accomodating general delivery clerk at the post office,Miss Katie Padden and Miss Evelyn Miller left Monday morning for Stevenson and Rock Creek.
