Will Higgins joined his family at Ocean Park last Saturday. Councilman E.R. Schofield has been taking a summer outing at Seaside. Mrs. T.Lynch, of North Yakima, has been visiting with friends in this city. Mrs. Sarah and Mrs. Henry Burgy spent a few days at Seaside last week. Miss Bessie McCarty returned Monday from a month's outing at Long Beach, Mr. and Mrs. A.J.Cook with some friends are at Trout Lake near Mt. St. Helens. Miss Clara E.DeYarmon returned Wednesday from a two week's visit at Kalama,Wash. M.R.Sparks and H.C.Phillips made their families at Seaside a short visit last Saturday and Sunday. Rev. J.E.Snyder and son left yesterday for a hunting and fishing trip on the Santiam in Oregon. J.C.Sandstrom, a former Vancouver policeman, was seriously injured in a saloon brawl at Seattle last Monday night. Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Knowles, and daughter Ruth, nad Mrs. Sarah Slocum are at Newport for a summer outing. Mr. and Mrs. E.G.Crawford were at Ocean Park over Sunday. They visited several of the coast resorts before returning home. Mort Meach, formerly of this city, but a recent resident of Eastern Oregon, has returned to Vancouver and bought the Cushing Paint shop. E.L.French and son Roy came up from Ocean Park last Sunday night. They have a camp at that place and they will probably join Mrs. French there in a few days. Sheriff Biesecker, wife and children, Mrs. J.A.Walters,Mrs. Allie Thidebeau and Mr. and Mrs. BKies and children have joined the Vancouver colony at Ocean Park. Mrs. Milton Evans returned last evening from Bellingahm,Wash.,where she has been for the past four weeks assisting in the care of her sister,Miss Grace Cox, who has been seriously ill. L.Chas.Sparks,of Vancouver, and Geo.H.Street, of Portland, will render special music at the Christian Church next Sunday morning.Services will begin at 11 o'clock. Evening services at 8 o'clock. James Padden has purchased the interest of H.Deierling in the clothing establishment heretobefore conducted under the firm name of Deiering&Padden. The stock will be moved to the new Schofield building when completed and considerably enlarged.
