The result was what was expected by those who were posted as to conditions and the popularity of the various candidates. John A.Cowan was elected mayor and the vent was duly celebrated by the many friends of the lucky candidate. Teh celebration was at Mr.Cowan's expense of course. M.J.O'Brien and Chas. Litz were chosen for the ensuing two years, as councilman. John Karnat was re-elected treasurer for another year. The votes for the differnt candidates were as folows, Cown,87; Brown,57; For councilmen, O'Brien,93; Litz,74; Champlin,61; Karnath,47; For treasurer, Karnath,79; Johnson,58.
