Judge Back Holds Dry Contention Good Law
The action on the part of the liqour interests in the cases filed by ex County 
Attorney Burnett against the 17 saloonkeepers of Vancouver charging them with 
selling whiskey in a dry unit was scheduled for late Tuesday afternoon.
Judge A.L. Miller, attorney for the saloonmen filed a demurrer to the 
complaint admitting the facts alleged in the complaint but that no offense 
being committed under the Cushman construction of the law.
The demurrer was argued Thursday and Judge Back rendered his decision this 
morning, overruling the demurrer, being a victory for the drys. The case will 
now undoubtedly go to the supreme court.
