Barrell,near LaCamas. Mr. and Mrs. Davis came west from Illinois in 1880. After living in Prtland a short time they bought Lady's Island,and lived there ten years.They then moved to Vancouver and spent fifteen years in that city,and for the last three years have resided in a cottage near the home of Mrs. Barrell. About seventy five guests were present to offer their congratulations,and many who could not come wired their greetings.The table which held the bride's cake and other goodies was spread from noon until ten o'clock in the evening.The bride of fifty years was attired in a white dress as nearly as possible like the one she wore when she was married. Many beautiful presents were brought by their friends. Rarely doe a couple reach this period of their lives so blessed as Mr. and Mrs. Davis.They have seven children,and all are living. They are three sons; J.J.Davis of Cobden,Illinois;J.T.Davis of Portland;Scott Davis of LaCamas, nd four daughters; Mrs.Joseph Teeson,Mrs.W.G.Simpson and Mrs.R.C.Burrell of LaCamas and Mrs.S.G.Egbert of Ferndale,Wash. They have sixteen living grand children and six great grandchildren.
