Hall, to extend their hearty congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. George Peebles on the occasion of their fiftieth wedding anniversary. The gathering, which was called by Rev. S.V.Warren, was one of rare enjoyment, and besides the people o fthis part of the country, there were many friends from Vancouver. At noon dinner was served, and although the seating capacity at the tables was seventy five, all the seats were twice filled and a considerable number of them three times. The tables were bountifully laden with almost everything conceivable in the way of good things to eat, with a ample left for another good feast. The hall was decorated in most tasteful manner and the evident care taken to make it as beautiful as possible bare eloquent testimony to the high esteem in which Mr. and Mrs. Peebles are held. In the afternoon a literary program was held, and was greatly enjoyed by all. Mr. Peebles had made a request that no presnts be given, and with a few exceptions his request was carried out. Mrs. Peebles is the beloved president of the W.C.T.U. and also holds prominent offices in the Sunday school for thirty years, and is class leader. All the young people in the community have been members of her class, and her influence for good is unbounded. All gathered to do her honor on her golden wedding anniversary, and it was evident to all that her efforts have been richly rewarded. Mr.Peebles wears the little bronze button of the G.A.R. and is also an active member of the church. Rain or shine, thsi worthy cople never miss a Sunday morning service. W.D.Strahl, the photographer, was present and made a picture of Mr. and Mrs. Peebles, as well as one of the great wedding cake. It was evening before all the party was dispersed, after again extending to Mr. and Mrs. Peebles their best wishes for all possible happiness.
