Mr. Self was coming from the dock just after the arrival of the Jessie Harkins. He was walking up the track of the electric car line at the Crown Columbia Pulp and Paper Comapny, when he was s truck by a car and dragged a distance of 50 fee mashing one side of his face and crushing the bone of hsi left arm above the elbow, so that it was necessary to remove an inch and a half of the bone and possibly the limb will have to be amputated. At the time of the accident it was quite dark and Mr.Self was walking behind a travelling man who jumped out of the way of the car, so that Mr.Self had no chance to notice the approach of the car until it was too late. Mr.Self was taken to the Good Samaritan Hospital at Portland, Sunday morning.
