It is on the Columbia the great waterway of the west. It is on the S.P.&S Ry.,known as the North Bank road,the best roads west of the Rocky Mountains. One enterprise the Crown Columbia Pulp and Paper Co.,employs three hundred men. Fifty tons of manufactured and farm produce are handled over its docks daily. It has one of the best fruit and dairy counties trubitary that can be found in the west. It is a central point for anumber of logging camps and sawmills. Its climate is delightful.Weather colder than 25 degrees above zero is seldom experienced.In Summer the temperature rarely goes aboce 80 degrees.The death rate here is as low as any place in the world. LaCamas is twenty five miles from Portland,Oregon ,the metropolis of the Northwest.
