Early last Sunday the MacMaster store was broken into, but the burglar as foiled by Walter Durham, who was sleeping in the store. When aroused Mr.Durham found the burglar had entered the secodn story by a window over the front porch, Durham fired three times, but failed to hit the man who jumped through the window and fell from the porch. Next day Jack O'Brien was arrested by Marshal Warren, and confessed committing the crime.he failedto implicate anyone els in the crime, although many think he was not alone.Suspicion pointed to O'Brien when Sunday morning he told a story of having fallen from a walk and sprained both arms. he said he had tripped in a hole in teh walk near Perce's sho shop, and that he would begin suit against the city.O'Brien has been here for some time, and so far as is known was never suspected of a criminal tendency.
