A.E.Beagle left Thursday evenign for Pacific County where he will spend two weeks cruising for timber for Portland parties. Cecil Mills and Charley Duffin,who are students at Stanford,returned home yesterday for vacation.Mr.Mills is taking a law course and Mr.Duffin is studying electrical engineering. C.C.Anderson,one of the prosperous farmers of Sunnyside was in LaCamas yesterday making arrangements in which to ship cattle to Spokane.The shipment will be made Monday,and Mr.Anderson will accompany them.He is thinking of engaging in the sheep business and is looking out for several hundred head.F.W.Leadbetter,a prominent Portland capitalist,was in LaCamas Wednesday looking after his large interests. Frank McGinnis has been elected manager of the baseball team,J.T.Poindexter having resigned. McDowell & Frey,the barbers,will move into their new quarters near the post office the first of next week,where they will have a well appointed shop. Felix Van Fleet killed abull belonging to C.C.Anderson,of Sunnyside,the first of the week by castrating him.The bull was outside.On demand of Van Fleet paid for the animal. M.T.Coffey went to Pendleton Sunday on a business trip returning Thursday. George Williams and Will Buhman went to Redding California to make final proof on their timber claims. Miss Ellen Reilly,Miss Wilson and Miss Nora Self went to Vancouver this week to take the teacher's examination. Jack Munyas and Felix Van Vleet went to Spokane Wednesday where they helped represent this setion in the Republican convention. Kenneth Bros. have started their ice plant,the first ice being taken out Saturday.They are turnign out fine quality and will be able to supply LaCamas,Washougal and other nearby points. T.S.Woolosn will being erection of a building on the corner of Third and Clark streets near H.Crawford's residence,in a few days.It will be two stories and he will use the lower story fro a restaurant.
