Miss Theresa Hilstrom,who recently won the Telegram's Seaside trip,is spending the week with Alice Asher at Camas. Vancouver Chronicle R.E.Young will leave today for the coast,and after spending a few days there will go to his old home in Batavia,Ill., for a month's visit. Mrs. W,.Haffey and children,accompanied by Mrs.Ed Kersey of Vancouver,went to St.Martin's hot springs Thursday for a week's outing. J.T.S.Paynter returned Monday from a two weeks outing at the sea shore. Last Saturday Miss Nellie Haffey gave a party to a number of her young friends.that day being the twelfth anniversary of her birth. J.T.Poindexter visited here the first of the week.He has secured a position with the Blake-McFall Paper Co., of Portland,as city salesman. Robert Allison is beginning the erection of a cottage on the lots he recently bought of M.T.Brown,Roy Frame,H.M. Trenner, and Mr.Perry are each erecting a house on the hill.There has been built in LaCamas this summer,including those under construction,more than twenty five houses. Mrs.FRank Bone and children of McMinnville,Ore., and Mr. and Mrs. A.J.Hicks of Heppner,Ore., are visiting Mrs.Hicks and Mrs.Bone's parents,Mr. and Mrs. C.E.Pound. Mr.Hocks id the editor of the Heppner Times and was formerly a resident of this place. Miss Nora Smith returned from Forest Grove Tuesday.Since her trip to Seaside,Miss Smith has been visiting her mother in the valley town. W.P.Oliver,the popular baker,has sold his shop to A.W.Rowley who has been in the bakery business on First Street.- The Kelso Journal Pat Cahill returned to LaCamas Tuesday evening after a month's absence,but left again Wednesday morning. Mr. Cahill reports that he has cut out the booze and is straightening up. A horse belonging to C.E.Pound ran away on the river road Sunday and hurt Mr.Pound's daughter,Mrs.Ethel Davis,quite seriously.The buggy was almost completely demolished.The horse became frightened at an automobile.
