Glenn Ranck was fourth in the race for the legislature,Tuesday, which was a surprise,as it was generally conceded that he would get second or third place,in the former case he would have been nominated.During the campaign and for several months a hard fight has been waged upon him,but it is doubtful if the things his enemies said would hurt him so much as his own word s printed in the Chronicle. Not that he took any unpopular stand, but his constant reference to his war record and other acts disgusted the voters. but, after all,it is very doubtful if the present nominee will quit the legislature (providing they are elected) with a record equal to Ranck's.
