Cooper at Vancouver, was arrested here by Marhsal Warren,Monday and taken to the county seat for trial. He was taken before Justice Scanlon and plead guilty and was fined $25 and costs. He is present confined in th ecounty jail. Carl Cromwell Danforth, the young lad being held for threatening the life of hsi step father, has been released without bonds, until the return fo the judge of th esuperior court. The boy will be in the care of his uncle, Chas. Baab, at Fishers. Upon the return of the judge the boy will come up for hearing and may be sent to the State Reform school, if proper evidence is forthcoming. Philip Blackwood was arrested and taken before Justice Self Tuesday morning on a charge of petit larceny. h eplead guilty and wa ssentenced to ninety days in the county jail.Blackwood appropriated a ladies sweater at MacMaster's store Monday evening and placed it in hock with the proprietor of the LaCamas House whose suspicions were aroused. He reported the matter and Blackwood was arrested. Mrs. C.E. Bartow is here to spend a eek with her aughter, Mrs.J.H. Roffler, after which she will go to her old home in New Jersey to spend several months. While Mars. May Campbell and Mrs,Minnie Pickett were out driving last Saturday afternoon their horse became frightened at the paraphanalia of the survey corps working on Fourth street near the M.E. Church. The buggy was dashed against the boulders at the roadside and completely demolished. The ladies were thrown against the rocks and sustained painful ans serious injurie ,both having the muscles of the hip torn loose and Mrs. Campbell had a bad gash cut in her scalp, requiring six stitches to close. Both ladies are at the home of Mrs.Pickett. They will be laid up for several weeks as the nature of the injuries will require considerabel time to heal. Mrs. Eva Jackson, of Centerville,Wash., is visiting her grandparents, Mr. and mrs. R.W.Loe. Geo.D.Young of Vancouver, secretary of the Title Insurance Loan and Trust Co., and the Vancouver Title Abstract Co. was here on busines, Friday and placed an "ad" with the Post. You will do well to place your business in these reliable firms. A.M. Scott is finishing and painting his house. Mr. and Mrs. James Lee,of Vancouver, are visiting at Mr. Droman's this week.
