H.Crawford was struck by a load of pulp on the tramway Monday morning and shaken up severely. The pulp was being drawn by the motor,and MrCrawford thought he would have room to let it pass by standing close to the raiing of the tranway,but the pulp extended farther over the edge of the car than he thought,with the result that he was struck quite forcibly. George Pickett has bought a barber shop and stock of confectionary at Haines,Baker County,Oregon,and will move to that place at once. Mrs.Cowan is reported ill. Mrs.McAlphin of Oregon City is visiting her parents,Mr.and Mrs.J.H.Henderson. J.P.Lindeman writes as follows from Rufus,Oregon: "I take this means of informing my many friends of my safe arrival with my family at my home.Weather here is fine.Cliffs,Wash.,which is directly across the rover,is quite a city for its age. McDowell & Frey have let the contract for a bulding 3 feet ny 76 feet.It will be built on Fourth street just went west of the post office.A part of the bulding will be used by Messrs.McDowll and Frey for a barber shop,and besides thre will be a room 28 by 50 feet for rent.Mr.McDowell says the room has been engaged by a long time tenant already,but does not give the name of the party.Al Kersey has the contract for building and constrcution will begin next week. Nesfger,who pitched for the LaCamas baseball team last year,has signed up with Oregon City. He was a splendid man and the team here regret very much to lose him.The management of the team is in communication with another good pitcher,however,with good prsopects of sgning him.and he is said to be one of the best outside of the leagues teams.
