N.Freres and family, went to Nebraska this week, where they will visit for two months. Born,Sunday,to Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hosford,a boy. Chester Johnson and Oris and Ansel Wall went to the lower river to fish for the rest of the season. When Governor Mead arrived at Washougal Wednesday evening he was met at the dock by Postmaster Hutchinson and Dr.Smith, also about thirty boys and girls. The girls had prepared a yell, which would have done credit to a college bunch. The Governor and party took supper at the Park hotel, and returned to LaCamas. The irrepressible Steenson was primed to the right point for the governor's visit, and when introduced to Mr. Mead,Steenson gave an original toast for McBride, which was enjoyed by the governor. This is the first time a real live governor has been in Washougal, and as a result we feel considerably puffed up.
