Mr. and Mrs. J.W.Beveridge were in Vancouver the first of the week. H.Coffey, who lives on the River road, is busy pruning J.E.Rick's orchard. Willard Allen, of Mill PLain, was a caller on the Hill Saturday at D.W.Rick's home. The Misses Beatrice anMarjorie Sill were guests of Mrs.J.E.Rick Saturday and Sunday. J.W. is busy hauling feed from Fisher.He has another carload for his cattle and hogs. Mr. and Mrs.Sill and daughter,Beatrice,were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Sunday and Monday last night. A Portland man was on the hill Thursday looking for bees cattle.J.W.Beveridge has a fine lot for sale. Miss Ruby Rick had a number of young ladies sewing and making doll clothes Saturday for the Prune Hill Dolls Aid. Mr.Wight's house on the River road, burned Saturday night, January 31. He saved most of his household goods, but the house was a total loss. No insurance. D.W.Rick entertained at his home last Friday evening Miss Beatrice Sill, Miss Marjorie Sill, Miss Hazel Beveridge, and Theren Beveridge. Popping corn and making candy were first on the program. Miss Beveridge gave some fine selections on the piano. The party broke up at 12 o'clcok, all having had a fine time. D.W.Rick was happily surprised by an old friend,Douglas Cross, who called on him Saturday evening.Douglas is from Klickitat county where they chummed together for a number of years.His parents now make theeir home in Vancouver and he has been making them a visit. He will remian with Mr.Rick for a few days and from here will go to Goldendale on business.Douglas is a prosperous sheep man, which keeps him east of the mountains most of t he time.
