LaCamas Post August 15, 1908
Mrs.J.F.Bowers of this place and P.O.Mellon went to Vancouver together 
Tuesday,and then crossed over to Portland.Mr.Bowers did not know of his wife's 
intentions to leave,and when she was missed he at once suspected Mellon,who 
had been boarding at the Bowers home.He followed to Vancouver,as Mrs.Bowers 
had taken her two small children with her.Sheriff Sappington found Mrs. Bowers 
in Portland,and she returned home with her husband Wednesday.She denied any 
intention to elope with Mellon.Mellon is about sixty years old while the woman 
is perhaps thirty five.
