Vancouver Independent August 2,1906
The distressing accident last Friday evening, resulting in the death of 
Mrs.Pearl Slawson Ayers, and the burning down of their home, was due to the 
common habit of which so many are addicted, that of using the coal oil can to 
start the kitchen fire. The funeral took place at the Ellsworth church Tuesday, 
1:30 p.m.. Mr. and Mrs. Ayers were married July 4th and the young husband has 
the deepest sympathy of all.
