At the age of fourteen he moved with his parents to Vermillion,S.D. In June 1877,at the age of 22,he came west with his parents,locating on the farm near LaCamas,where most of his life was spent.He married Miss Blanche Craft of West Virginia in 1882.To this union was born four children,two sons and two daughters.The former are Kent and Andrew of this place and the latter,Leo of LaCamas and Iola Copeland,of Fairview,Ore.,Besides his immediate family he leaves two sisters in South Dakota,Mrs.Andrew Pickett and Mrs.Lee,the latter the wife of ex-Governor Lee of that state. The funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon by the Odd Fellows,the deceased being a faithful member of that order.He was also a Woodman of the World,and carried $2,000 insurance in that order.
