The Columbian
Word was just received telling of the death of Loren H.Cheney of this city at 
San Fransisco,California,after an illness caused by pneumonia.Mr.Cheney was 
born in St.Paul,Minnesota,28 years ago and lived in Vancouver for the last 10 
years. He learned the baking business here and served through the war as chief 
baker with a rank of first sergeant of the 330 Bakery company overseas.Later 
he was official currier between Washington,D.C. and Germany.
After receiving his discharge he had returned home where he died three weeks 
later.
He is survived by his mother,and two sisters,Hazel marquette and Miss Gladys 
Cheney, and three brothers,Gerald G.Cheney,Harold V.Cheney, and Floyd Cheney.
The funeral services took place at San Fransisco and the body was laid to rest 
in the National cemetery at Presidio at San Fransisco
