Vancouver Independent August 2,1906
On Wednesday,July 25,Edward Ellison, of the employes of the Government quarry, 
met with a fearful accident when a huge rock falling rather unexpectedly, 
caught him in his attempt to evade it, killing him instantly.The esteem in 
which the deceased was held was indicated by the presence of nearly all of the 
250 co-laborers at the funeral,which was held at Fisher cememtery.Thus we could 
read form their faces things that cannot be gotten from books. Thus he was laid 
to rest under the impressive services conducted by Rev. W.E.Roserman,pastor of 
the M.E. church, and a chorus of fourteen voices to sing the praises of God. 
How true the old proverb,"In the midst of life we are in death"
