The funeral was held Sunday, Rv. L.B. Quick officiating and many friends testified to the respect and esteem in which the deceased was held. The internment was in the Camas Cemetery. Deceased ws born in Smyrna, Obenango county, N.Y., on September 30, 1859. At 13 years of age he moved with his parents to Union City,Mich., and Sep. 30, 1874 he married Alce J. Burlingame, who survives him. He cam ewest in 187, soon afterward settling on Prune hill and residing there ever since. Of his immeidate family, one sist, residing in Battle Creek,Mich., survives him. Other relatives in the East, with the numerous friends are left to mourn his loss. Mr. Lawrence was a graduate of Hamilton Business College, of New York State. Few men are required to face the absolute certainty of approaching death in its most forbidding aspect,its almost unbearable, unbelievable suffering and no man ever met the inevitable with more courage. he was brave and patient throughot, with a cheering word for every one. His friends and neighbors who knew him and loved him can attest to his unfailing good nature, his faithfulness to his friends, his ever ready help and simplicity, his cheerful suny disposition, his strict integrity and sterling qualities of character. His home life was everything to him. Enough cannot be said of the fortitude and courage, th eloving ,patient,cheerful and constant attendance of the brave wife. Everything that love could suggest or loving hands perform was done to smooth the way. Every heart goes out to her in loving sympathy in this, her hour of deepest sorrow, with a firm reliance upon the unfailing love of One who doeth all things well.
