All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/wa/wafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sheron Faynor nitwittwin@hotmail.com June 7, 2010, 1:55 pm Vancouver Independent August 9,1906 Bob McLary, one of the prorietors of the Maple Leaf saloon on Fifth and Washington streets, was found dead Monday in the road in front of Orson Seward's farm in Fruit Valley where he had apparently dropped from heart failure.Last week he had driven out to his ranch at Sara where he expected to spend the week.Monday he started to walk to town and was no doubt overcome in the heat after making seven or eight miles on his way home. He was a native of Canada and about 42 years of age. he came to this county about seventeen years ago with the Michigan Lumber Company and for a time was engaged in lumbering. He afterwards ran the bar in the Michigan Exchange in the old Pacific hotel building at the foot of main street, and for several years past has been connected with Frank Browne in the Maple Leaf Saloo. He was the owner of two or more good ranches in this county and said to be comfortably fixed. he leaves a mother, two brothers and a sister in the East. He was a member of the local lodge of Red Men and Eagles, which organizations conduct his funeral today.
