Rev.R.H.Sawyer of Portland,performed the double ring ceremony under an archway of ferns and pink carnations with an American flag as a background. Miss Irene M.Goodnight,only sister of the bride, acted as bride's maid while T.W.Costello acted as best man. Mendelssohn's wedding march was played by Norman Bartlett,of Portland, a cousin of the bride. Immediately following the ceremony a dinner was served. Mrs. V.R.Bartlett,Mrs.Jennie Smith of Portland and Mrs.T.W.Costello presiding in the dining room. During dinner severasl piano selections were played by Norman Bartlett, and Dr. Mable N.Bacon read a number of poems written by friends of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Smith left for Seattle where they will be at home to their many friends after January 15, at 808 Yakima Avenue, in Seattle. The bride was charming in a gown of cream satin and hse carried a bouquet of pink rose buds and sweet peas. Mrs. Smith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.Goodnight. She has lived in Vancouver all her life and is a graduate of the Vancouver High school. For the past six years she has been employed at the Vancouver stationary store.Mrs.Smith has a large circle of friends in this city. Mr.Smith is the only son of Mr. and Mrs.Clyde Smith of Seattle. He is an oversea man having enlisted at the beginnning of the war. He served in the second division of the United States Marines and was cited twice for bravery. Out of town guests from Portland and Seattle attended the wedding.
