Stepp steppmom5@hotmail.com April 8, 2006, 6:28 pm Published in The Daily News on 2/27/06 Kathy Ann Andersen passed away suddenly and unexpectedly On February 22, 2006, of a complication of her heart at 42 years of age. She was born on August 19, 1963 in Hanover, Pennsylvania. As a young child and as an adult, she loved music and played the flute and the piano. Later in her life her talent came to benefit Toledo High School choir students. As a talented young woman, she graduated from South Western High School in 1981. Immediately following high school, she joined the Marine Reserves, and served her country for a short time in South Carolina until she was honorably discharged for a medical reason. Following her service, Kathy moved to Lake Tahoe, Nevada. It was there, that she met Richard Andersen, who soon after became her loving and devoted husband. They moved to California, where Kathy gave birth to her son, Eric and soon after, her daughter Dana. In 1990, her family settled in Lewis County. She was baptized with her husband into the Winlock Seventh Day Adventist Church. At the time of her death, Kathy was attending classes at Lower Columbia Community College for the purpose of transferring to WSU to earn a degree in business. She worked as a realtor and thrived as a student. Kathy was devoted not only to academics, but as a student of life. Her capacity for love and kindness touched countless lives. Still yet, her energetic spirit and gentle manner inspired and encouraged all those whom she met. Kathy is preceded in eternal rest by her brother, Ron Green. She is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Dana and Eric; her brother, Scott Green and his wife, Andrea of Hanover; her sister-in-law, Donna Green-French, her parents, Wayne and Shirley Green of Hanover, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces, who reside from Virginia to Pennsylvania. Kathy's memorial service was held on Monday, February 27, 2006. at the Winlock Seventh Day Adventist Church where Pastor Robert Lebard officiated. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fir Lawn Funeral Chapel.
