Dennis Wayne Ashby, 61, of Castle Rock, WA passed away on April 22, 2006 at 
home surrounded by loved ones. 

He was born December 30, 1944 in Longview, WA to Earl Ashby and Susie (Vaness) 
Ashby. Dennis lived the last 31 years in Castle Rock. He was a Kelso High 
School graduate and spent 4 years as a Carpenter Apprentice. On January 8, 
1965, he married Patricia D. (Nelson) Ashby at Patsy's parent's home in Kelso. 
Dennis was a general contractor, owning Ashby Construction, for the last 28 
years. 

Dennis was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting trips to Idaho and Colorado 
with sons and friends. He also loved to travel with family and spend time at 
the beach house in Ocean Park. He enjoyed following his grandchildren in their 
activities and spending time fishing with them in Grandpa's Pond. 

Dennis is survived by his wife, Patricia Ashby; a daughter, Meechele and Art 
Beebe; sons, Garrett and Addie Ashby, and Darren and Karen Ashby; his father, 
Earl and step-mom Patti Ashby; and grandchildren, Curtis, Nikolas, and Samantha 
Beebe, Emily and Easton Ashby, and Ashlee and Maggie Ashby. He was preceded in 
death by his mother, Frances "Susie" Ashby in 2005. 

Viewing will be Friday, April 28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. A graveside service will 
be held Saturday, April 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Whittle-Hubbard Cemetery. A 
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Paul's 
Lutheran Church in Castle Rock followed by a gathering held at the church.

Scholarship Fund, 1104 14th Ave. Suite 110, Longview, WA 98632.
