Ervin D. Axt, 80, of Kelso died Dec. 29,2005.

He was born April 23, 1925, in McClusky, N.D. to Jake A. and Ema (Schwartz) 
Axt.  He grew up in Castle Rock and lived in Kelso for 44 years.

Mr. Axt served in the Army's tank corps during World War II.  He was a 
longshoreman for 33 years, retiring in 1995.

His wife Doris Axt, preceded him in death Feb. 18, 2003.

He is survived by two sons, Terry Axt and Ron Axt; five daughters. Carol 
Barkley, Susan Carpenter, Peggy Tohl, Nina Lundy and Debby Mulcahey; two 
sisters, Nelda Slater and Elaine Rogers; 22 grandchildren and numerous great-
grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm Saturday at the Longview Longshore 
Hall.  The viewing will be held from noon to 3 pm Saturday at Hubbard Funeral 
Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart 
Association, 1280 S. Park Road, Denver, CO   80231
