Rachel Frances Carlton, 86, of Longview died Friday at the Hospice Care Center. 

She was born May 2, 1920, in Odell, Ark., to Homer and Ella (Wallen) Richey. 
She moved to the Longview area in 1946 from Los Angeles. She moved to San Jose, 
Calif., in 1969 and returned to Longview in 1995. 

Survivors include two sons, Larry Carlton and James Carlton; two daughters, 
Loretta Cortelyou and Linda Scott; a brother, Bill Richey; a sister, Peggy 
Floreck; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. 

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church. 
Private internment will follow at Cowlitz View Memorial Gardens in Kelso. 

Friends may pay respects from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Columbia Funeral 
Service.
