Dorothy later moved to Brookhollow where she enjoyed her neighbors, her yard and flower garden. Dorothy was a cook at the Washington School for about 10 years and later worked about 4 years at the new Butler Acres School. She was a great cook. She made wonderful pies and many batches of peanut brittle. She loved to dig, cook and serve razor clams for her family and friends. For many years she made beautiful wedding and birthday cakes. She liked making items for the church bazaar. She made and gave away many small quilts and pincushions. She loved antiques, especially pretty dishes and she had a warm and welcoming sense of decorating.
