He was born Feb. 24, 1923, in Norman to William Robert and Rose Etta (Fair) Doughten. He served in the Navy during World War II. He retired from Weyerhaeuser Co. in 1985 after working in the plywood mill for 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Down) Doughten; two sons, James Doughten and John Doughten; three daughters, Rose Stauch, Janice Gerdlund and Margaret Fuhrman; a sister, Fannie Matthews; 13 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A service was held Dec. 31. Interment has taken place at Black Springs Cemetery. Arrangements were by Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Inc.
