She was born November 29, 1919 in Portland, Oregon to Oscar Henry and Frances Otelia (Jabusch) Sherman. Mrs. Eichentopf was raised in the Longview area and then moved to Portland in 1948. She moved back to Longview in the early 1970's. She graduated from RA Long High School in 1938, then later graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital Nursing Program in 1941. She married Edwin Eichentopf April 7, 1942 in Kelso, Washington. Mrs. Eichentopf worked at the Cowlitz General Hospital as an RN from 1943 until 1948. She raised sheep, processed wool; also enjoyed quilting, gardening, and flowers. She was the Church organist at Holy Trinity Lutheran in Portland, OR, First Christian Church in Longview, WA, and Stella Lutheran Church. She was family oriented and was a loving wife and mother. She was a member of the Stella Lutheran Church, Ruff and Ruffles Square Dancers, and Stardust Dancers. She is survived by her husband Edwin Eichentopf of Longview, WA; Sons-Jerry Eichentopf of Portland, OR, and David Eichentopf of Longview, WA; Daughters-Ann O'Roke of Colton, OR, and Karen Peters of Portland, OR; Brothers-Buddy Sherman of Longview, WA, Bill Sherman of Kelso, WA, and Robert Sherman of Longview, WA; Sister Betty Dorris of Longview, WA; 9 Grandchildren; 1 Great-Grandchild; and many Nieces and Nephews. Services will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 11:00 AM. Reverend Carol Plummer officiating. Memorial Donations can be made to the Cowlitz 2 Fire and Rescue at 701 Vine St., Kelso, WA 98626. Arrangements by Steele Chapel At Longview Memorial Park and Crematory.
