He was born Dec. 10, 1919, in Kalama to Otto Emil and Viola (Wegner) Engelmann. His mother died in 1927, and he was raised by his father and grandparents, William and Hedwig Wegner. He graduated from Kalama High School and moved to Longview in 1942. Mr. Engelmann served in the Navy during World War II. He was a Greyhound bus driver, a Longview City bus driver and retired from the plywood department at Weyerhaeuser Co. He married Wilma Cooley on Sept. 6, 1942 in Longview. She preceded him in death in 1993. Survivors include three daughters, Viola Lafady, Mary Nelsen and Thelma Engelmann; two sons, Richard Engelmann and Marvin Engelmann; a brother, Lyle Engelmann; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A cryptside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Longview Memorial Park Mausoleum B Alcove. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice, P.O.
