John E. Erickson, 96, of Longview, died March 13, 2006. 

He was born Oct. 18, 1909, in Moscow Idaho, to Henry and Mary (Holten) 
Erickson. 

Mr. Erickson worked 44 years at the Cowlitz County PUD, then known as the 
Washington Gas and Electric Co. He retired as Superintendent of Operations and 
Maintenance in 1972. 

In 1935 he married Hazel Joyce Rydberg. She survives him. Also surviving are 
two daughters, Linda Erickson and Eileen Swanson; a son, Tom Erickson; a 
sister, Sally Middendorf; a brother, Donald Erickson; four grandchildren; and 
many nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of his life will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran 
Church. Visitation will be held from noon to 5 p.m. today at Dahl-McVicker 
Funeral Home. Private internment will take place at Longview Memorial Park.
