Edna Fairchild, 74, of Longview, left this world on April 4, 2005 at St. John 
Medical Center, after a battle with pneumonia. 

She was born January 2, 1931, to Sam and Claire Schaller (Devaney) in Bonners 
Ferry, Idaho. She graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1949. 

Edna was married to Harry Dean Fairchild June 29, 1949. She moved to Longview 
in March, 1950, where she raised three children. She owned and operated the 
Hair 'Em Styling Salon from 1969 to 1985, winning Cowlitz County Hairdresser of 
the Year in 1975. She was an outstanding grandmother, had a great sense of 
humor, was a fantastic cook and was always there to help someone in need. She 
enjoyed quilting, growing flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and 
family. 

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Stan; and sisters, 
Thelma, Harriett, Marion and Gary. She is survived by her husband; children, 
Tim, Steve and Jill; and grandchildren, Joe, Amber, Katie and Julia. 

A Memorial Service will be held at Green Hills Cemetery, on Friday, April 8, 
2005 at 1:00 p.m. A Rosary Service will be held at Green Hills Cemetery on 
Thursday, April 7, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Community Home Health 
& Hospice, PO Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.
