He was 86 years old. He was born January 13, 1920, in Portland, Oregon to John and Eleanor Finn. He was a 36 year employee of the Weyerhaeuser Company. As a timekeeper he worked at Camp No. 7 and No. 9, Camp Baker, and in Molalla, Oregon. Later, he worked at the sorting yard in Longview, Washington. John was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in New Guinea, Australia, and also in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Finn in 1982 and second wife, Clare Finn in 2001. He is survived by his two sons, Daniel C. Finn and James P. Finn, both of Longview, Washington; his grandchildren, Corina Olsen, Kristina Reichelt and Deanna Finn. He is also survived by his brother, Donald G. Finn of Portland, Oregon and six great- grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Rose Catholic Church, Longview, Washington on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 with Father Timothy Ilgen, officiating. Interment will be at Longview Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2006 from 12-6 at Steele Chapel. John would like to be remembered for giving 8 gallons of blood.
