He was born and raised in Longview, Washington, grew up in Toledo, Washington and lived in Longview for many years. He graduated from Toledo High School in 1989 and Washington State University in 1994 with a degree in education. Mr. Firth worked as a Supervisor for Columbia Analytical. He was a member of the Lions Club, a member and vice president and very active in the Longview Pioneer Lions, and a member of the Cowlitz Valley Moose. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his sisters. Family was very important to him. He also enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting and golfing. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone. Survivors include his parents, Greg and Betty Firth of Kelso, Larry and Cindy Quick of Toledo, and his grandmother Evelyn Firth of Phoenix, Arizona; brothers, Scott and Melissa Firth of Castle Rock, Tony Scruggs of Kelso and Terry Scruggs of Kelso; sisters, Lisa Quick of Toledo and Kim Quick of Toledo; 2 nieces, Calie and Chelsey Scruggs and 1 nephew, Justin Scruggs and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A Funeral will be held Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church with Deacon Clay Hartcell officiating. A Vigil Service will be held Friday, April 7, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church. Viewing will be held Friday, 10 to 5 at Steele Chapel. Interment at Longview Memorial Park.
