Gary Lon Foster passed away on February 20, 2006 at his home in Woodland 
following a long battle with emphysema. 

Gary was born October 19, 1933 in Timber Lake, South Dakota to Gerald and 
Mildred (Collins) Foster. They precede him in death. 

Gary grew up and attended school in McMinnville and Carlton, OR. He moved to 
Toledo, OR and worked for Cascadia Lumber Company. Gary married Helen E. 
Lovejoy, also from Carlton on February 28, 1955. In 1963 Gary moved his family 
to Woodland where he worked for Joe Zumstein Logging for over 20 years. He then 
worked for Land Works Northwest for many years before he retired. His love for 
his job showed in everything he did. 

Gary loved to spend time with his family. He had a special interest during his 
early years in his horse named Red, taking him to fairs and rodeos. Gary was a 
member of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Posse with his horse. He had a love for 
football, Nascar and old western shows. 

He is survived by his wife of 50 years at home, his three sons Rob Foster of 
Bigfork, Montana, Ron Foster of Vancouver, WA and Randy Foster of La Grande, 
OR; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving him are two 
brothers Don Foster of Keystone Heights, FL and Dwight Foster of Eugene, OR. 

A funeral service will be held at Mountain View Christian Center, 2810 NE 259th 
St., Ridgefield, WA (360-887-4016) on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 11:00am. 
Burial will be at Frank Abel Cemetery in Woodland at 2:00pm and is open to all. 
Viewing will be Friday, February 24 from 4-8pm at Woodland Funeral Home. 
Woodland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
