He was born Nov. 18, 1904, in Trelleborg, Sweden, to John and Anna (Soderberg) Fritze. He immigrated to Canada in 1930 and lived in Seattle before moving to Cathlamet. Mr. Fritzie attended an agricultural college in Sweden and served in the Swedish Cavalry. He worked for the Washington Department of Transportation from the mid-1950's to 1973. He later taught horseback riding. He married Rae Camilla Pedersen on Oct. 19, 1930, in Los Angeles. She preceded him in death in 2001. Survivors include two sons, Johnny Fritzie and Robert Fritzie; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held at 1 pm Saturday, June 24, at Dowling Chapel in Cathlamet. The viewing will be held from 1 to 5 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
