Frank L. Hammersmith, 80, of Longview died June 11, 2006. 

He was born July 9, 1925, in Ellwood City, Pa., to Piercie Ray and Mary 
(Dalton) Hammersmith. He graduated from the University of Washington in 1951. 

Mr. Hammersmith served in the Navy Air Corps. He moved to the local area 42 
years ago. He retired in 1983 from Amadon Forge and Machine Works where he 
served as a mechanical engineer and production manager. 

He married Lois Svendsen on Aug. 31, 1946, in Gary, Ind. She survives him. Also 
surviving are two daughters, Lorraine Sitton and Mary Jane Davis; five 
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. 

No service will be held. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lower Columbia Amateur Radio 
Association, P.O. Box 906, Longview, WA 98632, Cowlitz County Search and 
Rescue, 312 S.W. First, Kelso, WA 98626 or a charity of choice. 

Arrangements are by Cascade Northwest Funeral Chapel at Green Hills Memorial 
Gardens & Crematory.
