Mrs. Herold was born on January 24, 1951 in Longview, Washington to Kenneth and Geraldine (Witham) Quigley. She graduated from Wahkiakum High School in 1969. She moved to Longview in 1970 from Cathlamet. Mrs. Herold married Gary Herold on April 28, 1973 at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Puget Island. She worked as a hairdresser for Magic Scissors and The Empress Salon for 20 years. Mr. and Mrs. Herold both loved boating, traveling together and cruises. She enjoyed crafts, needlework, knitting, sport and commercial fishing. She was an involved family person and enjoyed socializing. Mrs. Herold loved motherhood and any activities that involved her son and husband. She never knew a stranger and loved life. She is survived by her husband Gary Herold at home; sisters Peggy Clark of Naknek, Alaska and Paula Quigley of Puget Island; mother Geraldine Quigley of Puget Island; many aunts, uncles, cousins and two nephews. Mrs. Herold is preceded in death by her son Josh Herold in 2002, brother Kenneth Quigley Jr. in 1979, and father Kenneth Quigley Sr. in 1986. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park. Reverend Ken Bjorge officiating. Viewing will be on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 from 12:00 to 5:00 pm, Wednesday, May 3, 2006 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Thursday, May 4, 2006 prior to service at Steele Chapel. Private entombment at Greenwood Cemetery in Cathlamet, Washington. Memorial donations may be made to Community Home Health and Hospice at P.O. Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632 or Charity of Choice.
