Dorothy was an only child to William and Marion Butler, born August 5, 1911 in Portland, Oregon. She moved to Tacoma, Washington at the age of 6, then her parents moved to Aberdeen, Washington where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1929. Her hobbies included working crossword puzzles, golfing, playing bridge and volunteering at Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington and Providence & Emmanuel Hospitals in Portland, Oregon. She married Howard W. Hiley in the late 1930's, he passed away in 1977. In 1963 her husband and she moved to Portland, Oregon, where she lived another 43 years. They had two daughters; Carol Lynne Wooding, who passed away in 1981 and Kay Dennis McCoy, who survives her in Longview, Washington. Also surviving: four grandsons; Ronald & Richard Wooding of Vancouver and Steve & Brian Dennis of Longview; three great grand-children, Matthew, Jacob & Jenna Dennis. Dorothy is also survived by a a special ex son-in-law, Dave Dennis. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the "Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes" in Portland, Oregon.
