She was born September 13, 1934 in Las Animas, Colorado to Mabel L. (Boss) and James Vernon. Dottie was 71. Dottie graduated from RA Long in 1952 and married Arnold W. Parvi. They had three children together. Mr. Parvi passed away on May 2, 1972. Dottie married Roy K. Hill on April 21, 1974 and had 31 loving years together. They enjoyed traveling around the United States and spending time in Arizona. She was an avid bingo player and had fun playing cards with her friends. She had a niche for gardening, crocheting, and knitting. Dottie loved family gatherings and her favorite time was Christmas and listening to her children sing Silent Night. Dottie truly enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and they in turn truly enjoyed her easy going, loving, and giving nature. There was a tremendous amount of love and closeness with her family even when the miles or "busyness" of life sometimes separated them. Family and friends will dearly miss her. Dottie is survived by her mother Mabel Soper; sister, Edith Dougherty of Logan, Iowa; her husband, Roy K. Hill; son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Nancy Parvi of Kelso; daughter, Pam Parvi of Engleman, Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Bambi and Micheal Brusco, Jr. of Rainier, Oregon; step daughters, Linda Lawson of Klamath Falls, Oregon, Brenda Carr of Longview and Lori Dewitt of Springfield, Oregon; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way. Her father James Vernon; two brothers, Jimmie and Richard Vernon; a stepdaughter, Jo Grantham and a grandbaby, Billy Brooks, preceded Dottie in death. The family would like to thank Nurse Larry for going beyond his duties to ensure Dottie's comfort with her transports and good sense of humor about being "related to the cable guy". The care the rest of her nurses and aides gave her was wonderful as well. Also, the nurses and aides at Hospice for keeping her comfortable and making the family feel at home. You are all kind and wonderful people. Thank you. At her request, there will be no services and cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Home Health & Hospice, PO Box 2067, Longview, WA 98632.Please sign the guest book at www.tdn.com/obits Additional Comments: The Daily News, Longview, WA www.tdn.com File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/wa/cowlitz/obits/h/hill171gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/wafiles/ File size: 3.0 Kb
